Reporting a Claim

Call the agency first, even if you are not sure if you need to file a claim.

Auto Loss

Contact the police to arrange emergency medical service if needed and report any and all potential injuries. Immediately write the license plate number(s) of the other vehicle(s) including potential witness. Obtain the following information: name, address, telephone number and insurance information for the driver of the other vehicle(s) involved in the incident. Remember it is very important to obtain the name, address and phone of the owner(s) and passengers of all the vehicle(s) that are involved in the incident as well as any potential witnesses.

When police are not summoned, promptly report the incident to the nearest police station and complete any necessary incident report(s). A copy of this report should be sent to the local police, your insurance company, and the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Please cooperate fully with the police, but do not make any admissions about your responsibility in the accident to anyone. Do not admit that it was your fault, even if it was.
